Isle of Raasay Single Malt whisky BATCH R-02.1

The Isle of Raasay Distillery set out to emulate some older styles of Hebridean single malt whiskies, with subtle, fragrant smokiness balanced with dark fruit flavours.

Two Isle of Raasay spirits – peated and unpeated – are matured separately in first fill Rye whiskey, fresh Chinkapin oak and first fill Bordeaux red wine casks.

These six recipe casks marry together to create the perfect dram with real elegance, complexity and depth of character.

Every drop of spirit is distilled, matured and bottled on the Isle of Raasay using water from our well: Tobar na Ba Bàine (the Well of the Pale Cow).

Tasting notes:
Color: Honey gold with hints of red wine hues.
Nose: Slightly mineral, earthy smoky, dried berries, subtle sea salt, oak, cinnamon.
Taste: Lightly peated balanced with rich dark fruit flavours, and juicy plums. 
Finish: Long lasting.
