Dictador XO Perpetual / Aurum 40% Vol. 0,05l

Dictador XO Perpetual / Aurum is a 35-year-old COLOMBIAn rum with an ABV of 40%. 

In 1913 the Columbiana distillery was founded by Don Julio Arango y Parra. The name is a kind of homage to Severo Arango y Ferro, an 18th-century Spanish ambassador who distilled rum himself and earned the nickname "Dictador" due to his social status and strict nature. 

The "Dictador Solera XO Aurum" consists of a syrupy sugar cane derivative called Virgin Sugar Cane Honey, which is obtained from the juice of the first pressing by heating and filtering. Usually rums are from  Guatemala  known to be based on the sugar cane honey. 

After fermentation, distillation takes place in an antique Alembic Copper Still. 

The young rum then spends several years maturing in used oak barrels using the Solera method.
