DESCRIPTION

Because of its dark appearance, this tequila could almost be confused with a young cognac. When swirled, it leaves a very light coating on the glass, with very long legs forming, which speaks for good quality. All tequilas from this brand are double distilled - the difference is that they use traditional stills and are aged in used bourbon and French oak barrels. This Añejo is aged for 12 months.

Aroma and taste

  • Aroma: Roasted peppers and almonds, vanilla oak, dried fruits
  • Taste: Somewhat delicate neutral beginning, followed by a dry peppery taste and hints of leather and oak
  • Finish: dry, light, invigorating but very light

Manufacturing

This tequila is distilled and bottled on the Beckman estate near the town of Tequila in the state of Jalisco, the heart of tequila country. This family has a tradition of making tequila that goes back almost 200 years, making it by far the oldest tequila family ever. As former partners of José Cuervo, they decided to start their own business and are now producing this tequila. The agaves grown on this estate have a pedigree just as long - longer than the yeast strains some bourbon makers talk about.
