DESCRIPTION

There is no complete agreement on the name of Grappa di Barbera aged in barrels. It is also often called Dellavalle Grappa Barbera Barrique Villa Isa. Barbera Grappa is produced in Roberto Dellavalle's Villa Isa distillery in Vigliano d Asti. The still young company has been delighting grappa connoisseurs with top quality grappa since 1983. The Dellavalle Grappa Barrique is no exception. It is traditionally distilled in small stills from juicy Barbera pomace. A flavor-preserving treatment of the pomace is the basis for top quality Barbera Grappa. The fire is aged in barriques. The small oak barrels with a capacity of 225 liters make the Barbera Grappa softer and fuller-bodied. It turns gold naturally and enriches itself with the aromas of the wood. The Dellavalle Grappa Barbera Barrique is bottled with an alcohol content of 42 percent volume.
 

How does the Dellavalle Grappa Barbera Barrique Villa Isa taste?


Full-bodied and mild, it carries the Barbera aromas to the palate. Notes from the barrique are skillfully introduced. It can be described as a typical barrel-aged Grappa di Barbera. To test the grappa, the optimal drinking temperature is 16 to 18 degrees Celsius. As a rule, grappa aged in barrels is drunk neat. Buy the Grappa di Barbera from the barrique and mix a cocktail with it. The Grappon with peach liqueur is a fruity, spicy grappa cocktail. To do this, mix the following ingredients in a shaker with ice cubes: four centiliters of Dellavalle Grappa Barbera Barrique and two centiliters each of peach liqueur and lemon juice. Strain into a cocktail glass using a strainer and add some fresh lemon juice. The grappa cocktail is ready.
