A.H. Riise Rum is a tribute to one of the most entreprenean Danes, Albert Heinrich Riise, who with great success drive his pharmacy in Charlotte Amalie on St. Thomas in the period 1838 to 1878.

The A. H. Riise distillery is located on St. Thomas Island, an American Virgin Island in the Caribbean.

Before this island became an American territory, it was a Danish colony.
Around the 1840s, the pharmacist Albert Heinrich was not only allowed to open a pharmacy, but also to produce alcohol.

A.H. Riise XO 1888 Copenhagen Gold Medal Rum is a very special rum; so special and of such high quality in fact that it once won a gold medal. 

This award was given at the prestigious the Nordic Industrial, Agricultural & Art Exhibition in 1888.

The rum is a blend from the West Indies and Central America. This prestigious rum can be up to 21 years old and no younger than seven years.

This is a complete, well-worked rum which can make even the most fastidious rum aficionado smile.

Tasting notes

Colour: Dark amber.

Aroma: Soft oak, old leather and dried apricots. As a tropical fruit salad with vanilla cream, and a hint of spices from juniper

Taste: Heat spices, Christmas cake and orange peel ending with a hint of English win gums.

Finish: Long lasting, dried fruits, old oak and sherry
